Excursions

Motril is best for those who are nature lovers and sports enthusiasts. The town offers a lot of places to go to and leisure activities to engage in.

Motril is blessed with buildings of historic interest such as its very own town hall, which has a 17 th century baroque-style nature. Its Moorish panel works in the ceilings of the assembly halls also add a gothic effect in the entire structure. In addition to this baroque-style structure, another place worth visiting is the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza, which stands on a hilltop vverlooking the Park of the People of Americas.

During the winter months, one can enjoy skiing on the mountains of the Sierra Nevada where ski slopes of Europe s most southerly resort are located. Those who are new to the sport can also find comfort in knowing that a ski school is present in the resort to provide lessons on skiing and snowboarding, so the place is practically suited for people with different skill levels. Those who are not brave enough to even deal with learning how to ski can still enjoy the majestic view of ski slopes while having a good lunch at the base of the mountain.
