Motril s distinctive cuisine brings together a unique blend of regional dishes, special ingredients and the influences from Moorish and Arab settlers.
Dubbed as the most admired cuisine around the world, tapas are not likely to disappear from the list of famous foods in Motril. Tapas can be as simple as that of toasted bread, rubbed with garlic and dipped on olive oil, or a dash of olives. It can also be topped with ham or salami, cheese, and pieces of Spanish tortilla. El Mondero Pub
This is a well stocked bar offering beers, spirits and cocktails (Guinness on tap). The tapas here are very good and filling. It has air-conditioning, dartboard, and good music. During Friday and Saturday nights, the atmosphere is great and the dancing goes on till late! It is open 7 days a week.

The Cresta Run
This is not actually a restaurant but a series of tapas bars. These bars are all open over the winter months but during the summer months, the ambience is terrific. Most of the bars here have street-side seating, so they are pretty much accessible and gives one a good feel of Motril s nightlife.

Zarcillo
This is located on the Esplanadas , right in the center of Motril , and overlooking the main church. The food here is mostly European though, but they also have dishes that vegetarians would surely love.

Asador el "Quebracho"
This is an Argentinian restaurant where the steaks and ribs are mouth-watering as they are cooked right before your eyes. House wines are also available and are well priced.

Brisa del Mar
This is a restaurant that serves the best fish tapas in town. They have a Spanish speaking staff and a Spanish menu. They also serve house wines of good quality and at very reasonable prices. They are open daily except on Tuesdays.

This bar is livelier during the night. They serve very tasty tapas, and the food seems to get better and better with every serving.
